Our Mission

The award-winning publication, Successful Black Parenting™ is not about skin color, but is about cultural differences. We recognize the importance of Black children internationally seeing themselves on the covers and in the pages of magazines to empower them toward a successful future and to create a social impact while reducing inequalities. Successful Black Parenting covers breaking news, and topics with new research, statistics, and demographics pertinent to the Black family.

Successful Black Parenting, the first national print magazine for Black parents was established in 1993 in Philadelphia by its founders, Janice Robinson-Celeste, MBA and Marta Sánchez, Ph.D. In 2017, they launched the publication onto the global stage, establishing its online base, and have since relocated its headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia.
